North Star

$200.00

Original Painting, acrylic on panel, framed, 8” x 10”

North Star explores the relationship between distinct abstract languages brought together within a shared geometric framework. Interlocking angular sections divide the composition into individual visual fields, each defined by its own combination of pattern, texture, and color. Biomorphic forms, rhythmic stripes, graphic symbols, and atmospheric surfaces coexist across the panel, creating visual conversations through contrast and repetition.

The composition centers on a small yellow triangle that serves as a point of orientation amid the shifting geometry. Bright accent lines trace the boundaries between fields, reinforcing both their individuality and their connection to the larger whole. Rather than resolving the different visual approaches into a single image, the painting invites viewers to navigate between them, discovering relationships that emerge through proximity and rhythm.

As the first work in the Field Studies series, North Star introduces an investigation that continues throughout the body of work: how distinct visual systems can occupy a common space while maintaining their individual identities.
